PLC Hires New Marketing and Digital Content Coordinator
Michelle Tibbetts brings strong marketing, graphic design and social media experience to the role
AUGUSTA, ME – Michelle Tibbetts of Augusta, Maine has been hired as the new Marketing and Digital Content Coordinator for the Professional Logging Contractors (PLC) of the Northeast.
Michelle joined the PLC in January 2026. She brings a strong mix of experience and skills to the position with over a decade spent in the nonprofit sector. Most recently, she served for six years as the Director of Marketing for United Way of Kennebec Valley. Michelle holds a B.S. in Kinesiology from San Diego State University and an M.A. in Sport Management from the University of San Francisco. Originally from the West Coast, she now calls Augusta home, where she lives with her husband and two sons.
Michelle is excited to be working with the logging and forest trucking community and supporting responsible forest practices and the preservation of working forests for the future.
“I am honored to join the PLC at such a pivotal time for the industry,” Michelle said. “I look forward to bringing a fresh perspective to our digital presence as we expand our footprint – ensuring the voices of our hardworking logging and trucking community are heard across the region. It is a privilege to tell our members’ stories and highlight the responsible harvesting practices that sustain our regional economy and the long-term health of our forests.”
PLC Executive Director Dana Doran said Michelle is a strong addition to the PLC staff with skills and experience that are already having an impact.
“Michelle is uniquely equipped to strengthen our marketing efforts and our digital presence as we expand across the Northeast,” Doran said. “We are very fortunate to have her on our team.”
Founded in Maine in 1995 by a handful of loggers who were concerned about the future of the forest economy, the PLC has grown steadily to become a regional non-profit which educates the public on the role of timber harvesting, trucking and forest management. The PLC also administers two certification programs across New England and New York which are grounded in responsible forest management – the Master Logger Certification Program® for logging companies and an FSC® Forest Management group certificate for participating family forest landowners – both verified through independent, third-party audits.
