LePage Stretches lead in lastest poll

AUGUSTA, Maine — A poll released Wednesday shows Republican Paul LePage with a 14-point lead over Democrat Libby Mitchell in the race for governor.

Public Policy Polling, a North Carolina firm, surveyed more than 1,400 likely Maine voters…According the results, 43 percent of respondents would vote for LePage … while 29 percent would cast their ballots for Mitchell…

…Unlike some other polls, PPP also gauged respondents’ support for all three independent gubernatorial candidates on the ballot. Eliot Cutler was polling at 11 percent, Shawn Moody at 5 percent and Kevin Scott at 1 percent.
