Deal to protect 4,777 acres on border
SUCCESS TOWNSHIP, N.H. — [T]he National Park Service closed…a $2.48M deal to conserve…4,800 acres in…N.H.
Forest Legacy Program funds from 2009-10 enabled the Nov. 2 purchase from father and son landowners Thomas and Scott Dillon of Anson, Maine.
[T]he land will be managed by the [USFS] White Mountain National Forest….
“This was a big win for us,” Steve Wight.., Mahoosuc Initiative said….
“It’s all part of an attempt to create connectivity among conserved parcels so…there is ability for wildlife travel corridors [and] human travel.” Wight said.
