Independents Cutler & Moody turn in signatures for Governor
Elliot Cutler
Eliot Cutler, an environmental lawyer and former Carter administration official, and Shawn Moody, a Gorham businessman, have both filed the required signatures to qualify for the November ballot, state officials say.
As the major party candidates for governor duke it out in the June primary race, independent candidates are beginning to qualify for Maine’s November ballot.
Two candidates running for governor as independents have so far won spots on the November ballot. Eliot Cutler, a Bangor native and environmental lawyer who served as the Carter administration’s top energy advisor, today filed the more than 4,000 signatures required for a spot on the ballot.
